The Hunter Bay approach has involved a ‘hands on’ involvement in its investee companies. In this regard, there has been either the assumption of a key management role or a close working relationship with management in growing and developing the relevant business.
Hunter Bay Partners Pty Ltd (Hunter Bay) was established in 1998 with a focus on direct investment and the provision of advisory services. Since establishment, the key areas of investment have been in the resource sector, the technology sector, the food and beverage sector and the property sector.
The approach adopted by Hunter Bay is to operate with a small but highly committed and focussed team. In view of the broad sectoral and geographic experience particularly of the two principals, John McGuigan and Hugh Thomas, the Hunter Bay team has the capacity to undertake both direct investments and advisory assignments in a number of sectors and geographies.
